Jennifer Foyle

Jennifer Foyle serves as president and executive creative director of both American Eagle and Aerie at American Eagle Outfitters. Foyle has played a central role in the transformation of several major retail brands, including American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, J.Crew, and Calypso St. Barth. Her career began in the Bloomingdale's buying program, followed by merchandising and buying roles at Gap. At J.Crew Group, she served as chief merchandising officer and contributed to the brand's repositioning. Foyle later held the roles of CEO and president at Calypso St. Barth before joining Aerie.

At American Eagle Outfitters, Foyle leads design, merchandising, marketing, visual, and business strategies for both American Eagle and Aerie. She has overseen significant growth at Aerie, expanding it from an intimates brand into a multibillion-dollar business. Foyle also developed new concepts for the company, including "Offline by Aerie," focused on activewear, and "Unsubscribed," a socially conscious retail concept.

Foyle is recognized for her work in body positivity and inclusive marketing. She launched the #AerieREAL campaign, a movement centered on self-acceptance, mental well-being, and women's empowerment, which influenced industry standards by pledging to stop retouching models in advertising and later extending this commitment to exclude AI-generated people or bodies in marketing. This approach contributed to sustained growth for the brand and record revenue for American Eagle Outfitters.

Her contributions have been acknowledged with honors such as the AdWeek Brand Genius Award, Glossy's Best Influencer Campaign, a Femmy Award, the NEDA Inspires Award, and inclusion in Forbes' "50 Over 50" list. Foyle was also named Women in Retail's Top Woman of the Year.

Foyle is involved in developing future retail leaders, serving on the board of the LIM Fashion Education Foundation and as a commencement speaker at LIM College, where she received an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree. She also serves on the board of Housing Works and is involved with NY Cares.
