Jenni Hermoso

Jenni Hermoso is a Spanish professional footballer known for her achievements in women's soccer. Playing as a forward, Hermoso has represented Tigres UANL in Mexico and the Spain national team. She is Spain's all-time top scorer and holds the record for the most Pichichi trophies, awarded to the top scorer in Spain's top division, with five. Over her international career, Hermoso scored 57 goals in 125 appearances, establishing herself as the country's record goalscorer.

Hermoso began her development with Atlético Madrid's youth teams, remaining with the club for eight years before joining Rayo Vallecano. She won her first senior title with Rayo before signing with Tyresö FF in Sweden. Hermoso later joined FC Barcelona, where she transitioned from attacking midfielder to false 9, becoming a prolific goalscorer. During her time at Barcelona, she won two Spanish league titles, two Copas de la Reina, and two Pichichi titles. Hermoso also played for Paris Saint-Germain and returned to Atlético Madrid before rejoining Barcelona, where she added three league titles, three Copas de la Reina, the UEFA Women's Champions League, and a continental treble to her honors.

Hermoso finished as the Primera División's top scorer in consecutive seasons and was the leading scorer in Europe's top five women's leagues for two years. She finished second in Ballon d'Or voting and was the world's highest female goalscorer in a calendar year with 51 goals. Hermoso became Barcelona's all-time top scorer, started in her first Champions League final, and was the top scorer in that Champions League season, marking a first for a Spanish player.

Hermoso was one of three players in Spain's FIFA Women's World Cup-winning squad to have participated in the previous two World Cups. At the FIFA Women's World Cup, she earned the Silver Ball as the tournament's second-best player after scoring three goals and providing two assists in Spain's victory. The tournament was marked by an incident during the medal ceremony involving then-RFEF president Luis Rubiales, which led to public discussion about sexual harassment in football and subsequent changes within the Spanish Football Federation.

In recognition of her advocacy against sexual harassment in football, Hermoso became the first woman to win the Sócrates Award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony. She returned to the Spain team, scoring a decisive goal against Italy in the Nations League, contributing to Spain's Nations League victory and Olympic qualification. Hermoso later joined Tigres UANL in Liga MX Femenil, continuing a career that spans multiple continents and has established her as a significant figure in women's football.
