Jenna Fischer

Jenna Fischer is an Emmy-nominated actress recognized for her portrayal of Pam Beesly on NBC's mockumentary sitcom "The Office." As Pam Beesly, the receptionist on "The Office," Fischer brought a Midwestern sensibility to the role. Drawing from her own experience working as a receptionist and administrative assistant in Los Angeles, Fischer felt well suited to the character. She received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and served as a producer for the series' ninth season. Fischer and the cast earned Screen Actors Guild Awards for best comedy ensemble and received multiple nominations during the show's run.

Before her breakout role, Fischer worked to establish herself in the film and television industry. Her first paying film role was in a sex education video, and it took three years after moving to California to land her first televised speaking role. Seeking to advance her career, Fischer wrote, directed, and starred in the mockumentary "LolliLove," co-starring Linda Cardellini, Judy Greer, and Jason Segel. For her work, she received the Screen Actors Guild Emerging Actor Award. The film led to her casting on "The Office." A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to the stage after "The Office," starring in the Off-Broadway play "Reasons to Be Happy," written and directed by Neil LaBute, and in the world premiere of Steve Martin's play "Meteor Shower" at the Old Globe Theatre. Fischer also starred in the world premiere of "Ashland Avenue" at Chicago's Goodman Theatre, written by her husband Lee Kirk and directed by Goodman Artistic Director Susan V. Booth. The production was extended twice due to strong demand.

Beyond acting, Fischer has established a multimedia presence. She and "The Office" castmate Angela Kinsey launched the podcast "Office Ladies," which achieved global popularity and received over 200 million downloads in its first two years. The podcast won iHeartRadio's Podcast of the Year Award and the Webby Award for Best General Series – Television and Film Podcast People's Voice Award. Fischer is the author of "The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide," offering strategies for aspiring actors, and co-authored the New York Times No. 1 bestselling book "The Office BFFs: Tales from The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There" with Kinsey.

Fischer has publicly discussed her diagnosis with triple positive breast cancer and, after completing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, is now cancer free. She shared her cancer journey to encourage others to get annual mammograms. After appearing on TODAY for a conversation with Hoda Kotb, audiences received insight into Fischer's experience and recovery. Fischer's work across television, film, theater, podcasting, and publishing has established her as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
