Jen Psaki

Jen Psaki's career in political communications began with the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack in 2001. She later served as the White House Deputy Communications Director from 2009 to 2011 and as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State from 2013 to 2015. Psaki was then named as the White House Communications Director from 2015 to 2017 during the Obama administration. She also held the position of the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022.

After her tenure in the White House, Psaki transitioned to media, initially as a political contributor for CNN from 2017 to 2020. In 2022, she joined MSNBC as a contributor and later as the host of the talk show "Inside with Jen Psaki." This show initially aired on Sunday mornings, beginning on March 19, 2023, and subsequently moved to MSNBC's Monday 8 p.m. Eastern prime time slot on September 25, 2023. In April 2025, Psaki moved to Rachel Maddow's former spot, Tuesday through Friday, with her show "The Briefing."

In addition to her work in politics and media, Psaki also authored the New York Times bestselling book "Say More: Lessons from Work, the White House, and the World," which was published in May 2024. She also appeared before the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs in June 2024 for a transcribed interview about the Biden Administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan.
