Jeff Rossen is a consumer investigative journalist known for creating and hosting the "Rossen Reports" franchise, a prominent consumer reporting series on television. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Rossen began his broadcasting career in radio before moving through local television markets in Utica, Syracuse, and Detroit. He later joined WABC-TV in New York, serving as a reporter and fill-in anchor and covering major news events. As one of the first live reporters on the scene during the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, his coverage earned him a Peabody Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
Rossen joined NBC News as National Investigative Correspondent, leading the "Rossen Reports" investigative unit. The franchise aired across NBC platforms, including "Today," "NBC Nightly News," and "Dateline NBC." During his tenure at NBC, Rossen also served as a rotating anchor for "Weekend Today" and MSNBC, and conducted exclusive interviews, including one with Charlie Sheen during his dispute with the producers of "Two and a Half Men." He covered international stories such as the Oscar Pistorius murder trial in South Africa and the investigation into Whitney Houston's death. His investigative work earned him Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program and Deadline News Writing, as well as a U.S. Department of Justice award for special reporting on crime victims.
Rossen's journalism has led to policy changes at Disney World and Target, and helped TD Bank customers win a $9 million lawsuit following his reporting. In another case, his investigation prompted an insurance company to approve a life-saving drug for a terminally ill man. Rossen authored the book "Rossen to the Rescue: Secrets to Avoiding Scams, Everyday Dangers, and Major Catastrophes," extending his consumer advocacy beyond television.
After leaving NBC, Rossen joined Hearst Television as Chief National Consumer Correspondent, syndicating "Rossen Reports" across ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliate stations in major markets. He later launched an independent digital media venture, expanding his consumer brand to more than 2.4 million subscribers across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Rossen is also co-executive producer of "America's Most Wanted" on Fox. Across broadcast, cable, and digital platforms, Rossen focuses on translating complex consumer issues into actionable content, serving as a resource for Americans seeking to protect their finances, safety, and well-being.
