Jeff Berman

Jeff Berman is a media executive, attorney, and entrepreneur whose career spans public service, digital media, and podcast innovation. He began his career as a public defender representing children facing life imprisonment before serving as chief counsel to U.S. Senator Charles Schumer and staff director of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight & The Courts. Berman holds a Doctor of Law from Yale Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College, and has served as an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University. This combination of legal expertise and civic engagement established a foundation for a career at the intersection of law, technology, and media.

In the private sector, Berman has held senior leadership roles during pivotal moments in the evolution of digital media. As president of MySpace during its peak, he led policy, communications, marketing, content, and sales. He oversaw digital media for the National Football League and served as president of Whalerock Industries, where his team simultaneously charted seven of the top 10 applications in the Apple App Store. His board service at Buddy Media included guiding the company through its acquisition by Salesforce. Berman also co-founded Magnet Companies, where he helped launch TOGETHXR, a women's sports and culture brand, and led the Series A investment in Dear Media, before becoming CEO of WaitWhat and co-host of "Masters of Scale."

WaitWhat is recognized for creating original intellectual property and content across business ("Masters of Scale"), wellness ("Meditative Story"), and creativity ("Spark & Fire"). Downloaded more than 120 million times, WaitWhat's media properties have influenced the podcast landscape. As CEO, Berman has guided the company through a strategic refocus on business and technology content.

Reid Hoffman announced Berman as a host of "Masters of Scale," joining a roster of leaders and entrepreneurs who have hosted the show. In this role, Berman has conducted conversations with prominent business leaders, including Guy Kawasaki, who discussed lessons from his experiences in technology and investing.
