Jeannette Reyes and Robert Burton are award-winning Washington, D.C.-area broadcast journalists, entrepreneurs, and social-media personalities whose careers in local television news have evolved into a broader media brand.

Reyes, a Dominican-American journalist raised in Providence, Rhode Island, began her broadcast career after graduating from college, working in Little Rock before moving to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a reporter for ABC affiliate WJLA. She later spent more than four years at Philadelphia's 6abc (WPVI-TV) before returning to Washington in 2020 as a morning anchor at FOX 5.

Burton, a Chicago native and Millikin University communications graduate, began his broadcasting career at WAND-TV and later became a weekend sports anchor at KATV in Little Rock. He joined WJLA/ABC7 in Washington in 2014 as a sports reporter and anchor, eventually becoming a co-anchor of "Good Morning Washington" in 2020. During his decade at the station, he also developed community initiatives including “Reading with Robert,” which brought him into local elementary schools to promote children's literacy.

The couple met in 2012 while Reyes was interviewing for a position at the Little Rock station where Burton worked. They married and subsequently became one of the most recognizable couples in local television news. In 2020, they began creating humorous social-media videos parodying the distinctive “news anchor voice” they used professionally. The videos quickly went viral, eventually building an audience of more than one million TikTok followers and leading to appearances on national television programs and other media.

In 2024, Reyes announced that she was leaving the FOX 5 anchor desk after roughly three years with the station, choosing to step away from daily television news and focus on her own media and business ventures, describing her career as a transition from anchoring the news to telling stories in new ways.

Burton also left his longtime position at ABC7 in July 2024 after approximately a decade at the station. He initially stepped away from television to spend more time with his wife and daughter. However, in December 2025, Burton joined FOX 5 DC as a morning anchor on "Good Day DC."

Today, Reyes and Burton occupy somewhat different but complementary positions in media. Reyes has moved increasingly toward entrepreneurship, digital storytelling, and her personal brand, while Burton has returned to the television newsroom at FOX 5. Together, they remain known for combining traditional broadcast journalism with social-media storytelling and humor—a combination that turned their “news anchor voice” sketches into a nationally recognized digital phenomenon.
