Jean Hynes

Jean Hynes is the chief executive officer and managing partner of Wellington Management, a leading independent investment management firm. Overseeing more than 3,000 employees across 19 global offices, Hynes provides strategic leadership in globalizing the firm, advancing diversity and inclusion, and integrating technology to support the future of active investment management. Her career at Wellington began as an administrative assistant and progressed through roles as a global industry analyst, healthcare portfolio manager, and leader of the Health Care Sector Research Team, culminating in her appointment as the firm’s first female CEO.

Hynes has managed significant healthcare investment portfolios, including the Vanguard Health Care Fund, and has expertise in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Her leadership includes serving as one of Wellington’s three managing partners, with responsibility for the firm’s partnership structure and long-term strategy.
