Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on March 3, 1998, in St. Louis, Missouri, Tatum attended the Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis County, where he was rated a five-star recruit. Thereafter, he played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. During his freshman season, Tatum played 29 games, averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He received several accolades, including being named ACC freshman of the week in December 2016 and being named to the All-ACC Tournament and ACC All-Freshman teams.

He was selected with the third overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA draft. Tatum recorded a double-double in his NBA debut, with 14 points and 10 rebounds, earning him the Eastern Conference's Rookie of the Month for December 2017. He was voted to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2018 and has since been a five-time NBA All-Star and a three-time All-NBA selection. Some of his significant career highlights include being named the NBA Eastern Conference Finals Most Valuable Player in 2022, setting the record for most points scored in an NBA All-Star game (55), and in a Game 7 of any NBA playoffs series (51). In the 2022-23 season, Tatum became the only player in Celtics history to average at least 30 points per game in a season, with a 30.1 points per game average.

Apart from his NBA career, Tatum also represented Team USA and achieved significant success. Notably, he won a gold medal with the 2020 U.S. Olympic team in Tokyo and represented Team USA at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit. In addition, Tatum participated in the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship and 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championship, making the Eurobasket.com All-World Championship U19 Second Team. Off the court, Tatum has endorsement deals with Jordan Brand, Subway, Imo's Pizza, and Gatorade.
