Jason Droege is a seasoned technology executive and entrepreneur currently serving as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Scale AI, having been promoted from his previous position as Chief Strategy Officer in mid-2025. He joined Scale in September 2024, bringing more than two decades of experience leading and building impactful tech businesses. Previously, Droege was a Venture Partner at Benchmark, where he worked closely with early-stage founders across consumer, AI, marketplaces, and enterprise software sectors. Prior to that, he played a foundational role at Uber Eats, serving as its Vice President and helping grow the platform from its first order in Toronto in December 2015 into one of the world's largest food-delivery marketplaces by 2020. Earlier in his career, Droege developed the cloud strategy for Taser (now Axon Enterprise), guiding its evolution from a hardware-centric company toward a hybrid hardware-software model. He began his professional journey with leadership roles in the VoIP and e-commerce sectors, including serving as President of Gizmo5 and founding The Back 9 Golf Co., before earning his Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA.
