Jasmine Cephas Jones

Jasmine Cephas Jones is a Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actress and singer recognized for her work across Broadway, film, television, and music. Cephas Jones trained in vocal performance at Berklee College of Music and studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, building a strong foundation for her career. She is also a member of LAByrinth Theater Company.

Cephas Jones made her Broadway debut originating the dual roles of Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds in the stage musical "Hamilton." Her performances in "Hamilton" showcased her versatility as both an actress and vocalist. She contributed to the show's cast album, which earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, and her performance was featured in the Disney+ live stage recording. Cephas Jones, along with castmates Renée Elise Goldsberry and Phillipa Soo, performed "America the Beautiful" at Super Bowl LI.

Her screen career includes roles in films such as "Mistress America," "Monsters and Men," "The Photograph," and "Origin." She played a mother in the drama film "Blindspotting" and its spin-off series, where she also served as a producer, marking her first producing credit. In television, Cephas Jones appeared in the short series "#FreeRayshawn," earning an Emmy Award for her performance as Tyisha. Her Emmy win, alongside her father Ron Cephas Jones, marked the first time a father-daughter duo won Emmy Awards in the same year, and she became the first Black woman to win in the Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series category.

Cephas Jones also performed as Swan on the concept album "Warriors" by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis. She reunited with "Hamilton" co-stars at the Tony Awards to celebrate the musical's 10th anniversary. With a career spanning Broadway, film, television, and original music, Cephas Jones is known for her range and commitment to storytelling in the performing arts industry.
