Janine Rubenstein

Janine Rubenstein is a journalist, editor, and on-air personality with an extensive career in entertainment media. After earning a master's degree in print journalism from the University of Southern California, Rubenstein began her reporting career covering crime at Cape Times in Cape Town, South Africa. She contributed to Essence Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine before joining PEOPLE, where she advanced through roles over more than a decade.

Rubenstein started at PEOPLE as an editorial assistant and reporter for the crime and human interest team, later moving to the entertainment division as a TV writer and music editor. She was selected to host "PEOPLE Every Day" and serves as Editor-at-Large, covering a range of topics. Her work includes reporting and editing breaking news, music features, human interest, and style stories, and she has conducted interviews with figures such as Lenny Kravitz, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, and John Legend. Rubenstein has appeared on shows including "Good Morning America" and "Entertainment Tonight," and regularly hosts PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly Red Carpet Live specials.

PEOPLE and iHeartMedia named Rubenstein host of "PEOPLE Every Day," a Monday-through-Friday podcast distributed on iHeartRadio and major podcast platforms. The podcast provides listeners with news, entertainment, lifestyle, and pop culture coverage, featuring PEOPLE's access and reporting on major stories, celebrity exclusives, and human interest features. In her role as Editor-at-Large, Rubenstein continues to write, report, and oversee select editorial projects for PEOPLE.
