Jamie MoCrazy is a freestyle skier, resilience expert, motivational speaker, traumatic brain injury (TBI) advocate, and nonprofit founder whose journey from professional sports to overcoming life-threatening injury has engaged audiences worldwide. MoCrazy competed at the highest level in international events, including Dew Tour, X Games, and AFP World Championships. She became the first woman to land a double backflip at X Games and the first woman to flip off a rail in competition. By age 18, MoCrazy won the Junior World Championships and relocated to Utah to continue training as a professional slopestyle and halfpipe skier.
MoCrazy's career trajectory shifted dramatically during the World Tour Finals in Whistler, Canada, when a crash resulted in a brain bleed in eight locations and paralysis on her right side. She was transported by helicopter to a Vancouver hospital, where she spent several weeks recovering. Upon awakening from a coma, MoCrazy had to relearn basic motor, cognitive, and behavioral skills. Her recovery journey—from world-class skier to relearning how to walk, speak, and think—became a story of resilience and rehabilitation. Eight months after the accident, MoCrazy returned to skiing, later enrolling in college and beginning her work as a motivational speaker to raise awareness for invisible trauma and TBI. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Westminster College.
MoCrazy holds Peer to Peer and Person Centered Practice certifications. She shares her experiences of loss, recovery, and resilience with audiences at nonprofit galas, business conventions, healthcare conferences, and medical schools across North America and Europe. Her keynotes blend lived experience, neuroscience insights, and storytelling to address injury recovery, mindset shifts, and personal empowerment.
MoCrazy co-founded the MoCrazy Strong Foundation, a nonprofit supporting brain injury survivors and their families through the recovery process. Her advocacy includes the MoCrazy Method, a systematic approach to help individuals assess their current situation, set goals, and plan actionable steps. MoCrazy also co-directed the documentary "#MoCrazyStrong," which premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, won Best Biographical Documentary Short at Atlanta DocuFest, screened at 10 film festivals, and was shown on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for brain injury advocacy. Through her speaking, foundation, and film, MoCrazy demonstrates that recovery and achievement are possible after significant setbacks.
