James D. Power IV

Jamey Power is an Executive Vice President at J.D. Power and Associates, the world’s leading authority on driving growth through customer satisfaction. As head of International Operations, he leads the development of international strategy and of global platforms for research, analysis, consulting and education. 

He also assesses and coordinates the needs of multinational clients and oversees the flow of information internally between the firm’s international offices in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and Asia Pacific.

Mr. Power is also Chairman of J.D. Power Asia Pacific, a wholly owned subsidiary of J.D. Power and Associates.

Mr. Power is the coauthor of Satisfaction: How Every Great Company Listens to the Voice of the Customer, the definitive book on how to boost profits by increasing customer satisfaction.

Since joining J.D. Power and Associates in 1990, Mr. Power has held a number of senior positions with the firm.

For nearly four decades, J. D. Power and Associates has been measuring consumer satisfaction, promoting attention to what customers really want as the key to business success, and helping businesses integrate customer information and feedback into effective business strategies.

Background

Mr. Power has held a number of senior executive positions at J.D. Power and Associates. He co-directed the firm’s regional office in Troy, Michigan, developing business with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), commercial vehicle manufacturers, automotive finance companies and a variety of automotive suppliers, such as tire manufacturers. During that time, Mr. Power also managed the firm’s Canadian activities. He has handled project activities for the firm’s research department and-marketing of the core syndicated studies, and acted as liaison with J.D. Power Asia Pacific. Mr. Power joined J.D. Power and Associates in 1990.

Mr. Power launched his career at the advertising agency Foote, Cone and Belding as a key member of-the account management team responsible for Mazda’s national marketing and communications program. He subsequently worked for the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation as Geo marketing development manager for the Southern California and Arizona region.

Mr. Power received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of San Diego and is a member of the Board of Regents of California Lutheran University.
