James Cooper Biography
James Cooper is an award-winning writer and producer, best known as one of the co-creators and stars behind global comedy podcast hit My Dad Wrote A Porno. He has performed in two sell-out, critically-acclaimed live tours at iconic venues all over the world, including the Sydney Opera House, Radio City Music Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall. With over 430 million downloads across six seasons, the show has spawned a comedy special on HBO, a best-selling book, and multiple awards – including a prestigious Webby Award for Best Comedy Podcast and the British Podcast Awards’ Podcast Champion
With his passion for storytelling at the heart of all his work, Cooper has enjoyed huge success across television, online, and audio. He earned a BAFTA nomination for his original format "Eating With My Ex" (BBC Three), which is now in its fourth season. He’s produced, written and directed a number of highly-regarded documentaries for global youth platform VICE. Furthermore, he’s worked on some of the UK’s biggest television biggest brands including "The X Factor," "The Apprentice," and "The Voice UK."
Cooper has penned the musical "Lovestuck," which premiered at Theatre Royal Stratford East in June 2025.
