Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston is a quarterback known for his statistical achievements and impact in both college football and the National Football League. At Florida State University, Winston became the youngest player to win the Heisman Trophy and the only freshman to claim the award. He set Atlantic Coast Conference, Florida State, and national freshman records for touchdown passes, throwing for 4,057 yards and 40 touchdowns in his debut season. Winston led the Seminoles to a National Championship, earning offensive MVP honors in the title game, and received recognition as ACC Offensive Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year, Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, and winner of the Davey O'Brien Award, Manning Award, and Walter Camp Award. He concluded his two-year starting career at Florida State with a 26-1 record, 7,964 passing yards, and 65 touchdowns.

Selected first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Draft, Winston became the first quarterback in league history to begin his career with consecutive seasons of 4,000 passing yards. He earned a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie year and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Winston became the all-time passing leader in both yards and touchdowns for the Buccaneers. He led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards in one season, the eighth-highest single-season total in league history at the time, and threw 33 touchdown passes. He became only the second quarterback in Buccaneers history to throw for 5,000 yards in a season and set an NFL record with seven interceptions returned for touchdowns. Winston also became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 450 yards in consecutive games.

After his tenure with Tampa Bay, Winston played for the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns. With the Saints, he became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw five touchdown passes with zero interceptions in his first career start with a new team in a season opener. With the Browns, he set a franchise record by throwing for 497 yards in a single game against Denver. Winston later joined the New York Giants, serving as a veteran presence in the quarterback room and stepping in as a starter when needed, including a three-touchdown performance in a Week 12 game and an appearance on the "ManningCast." In 2026, he joined Fox Sports as a correspondent for the FIFA World Cup.

Off the field, Winston established the Dream Forever Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of financially disadvantaged children and youth by providing encouragement, opportunities, and resources. The foundation's signature program, Jameis' Dream Room, installs technology centers in Title I schools. The organization has hosted football and leadership camps, raised funds for youth programs, and contributed to Hurricane Ida relief efforts in Louisiana. Winston graduated from Florida State University with a degree in social sciences and a minor in business, completing his degree after entering the NFL.
