Jacob Soboroff

Jacob Soboroff is an MSNBC correspondent known for his reporting on politics, immigration and social issues. He joined the network in 2015 after building a multifaceted career as a host, producer and journalist across digital and broadcast platforms. His work is marked by a focus on civic engagement and public policy, bringing complex national issues to a broad audience.

Before joining MSNBC, Soboroff held a range of high-profile hosting and production roles. He hosted Vanity Fair’s coverage of its 2015 Oscar Party, which he also executive produced in partnership with Embassy Row Productions. In 2014, he hosted “YouTube Nation,” YouTube’s daily clip show produced by DreamWorks Animation, and co-hosted and produced “TakePart Live,” Pivot’s nightly news and talk show.

In 2013, Soboroff became a founding host and producer of HuffPost Live, the streaming network launched by The Huffington Post. Earlier in his career, he hosted and contributed to projects for numerous media outlets, including MTV, AMC, NBC, CNN, PBS and NPR, establishing himself as a versatile presence across traditional and emerging media.

Beyond journalism, Soboroff is a longtime advocate for voting rights and election reform through the “Why Tuesday?” organization and delivered a widely shared TED Talk on the subject. He also serves on the associates board of City Year Los Angeles and is a service ambassador for Points of Light. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he earned a bachelor’s degree in politics and a master’s degree in political theory and philosophy from New York University.
