Jack Harbaugh

Jack Harbaugh is recognized in American football coaching for his extensive career and influence on the sport. He played college football for the Bowling Green State University Falcons, where he was a three-time letterman. In his junior year, the Falcons finished the season 9-0 and were named the small college division national champions. Harbaugh was drafted in the American Football League draft by the Buffalo Bills as a running back before transitioning to a coaching career that spanned more than four decades.

A veteran of 42 years in coaching, with 37 years at the college level, Harbaugh established his reputation through positions at several prominent college football programs. He served as defensive backfield coach for Bo Schembechler at Michigan for seven years, during which the Wolverines won five Big Ten Championships. Harbaugh was head football coach at Western Michigan University and Western Kentucky University, compiling a career college football head coaching record of 116-95-3. Under his leadership, Western Kentucky was the only I-AA school to rank in the top 10 in rushing offense for 12 consecutive years.

Harbaugh's tenure at Western Kentucky culminated in a championship run, leading the Hilltoppers to a 12-3 record and a 34-14 victory over McNeese State in the title contest, capping a 10-game winning streak that set a new school record. He was selected as the American Coaches Association National Coach of the Year. Harbaugh continued his involvement in football by returning from retirement to serve as assistant head coach for Michigan, contributing to a College Football Playoff National Championship alongside his son.

Harbaugh is the father of John and Jim Harbaugh, the first pair of brothers to serve as NFL head coaches and to face off in a Super Bowl. The Harbaugh coaching family, including Tom Crean, launched the Harbaugh Coaching Academy, which provides resources for coaches, teachers, instructors, and parents on tactical instruction, leadership skills, inspirational stories, and mental health in sports.

As a keynote speaker, Harbaugh shares insights on team building, leadership, and family dynamics, drawing from his experiences in football coaching and sports leadership.
