Jack Alexy

Jack Alexy is an Olympic champion, World champion, and a leading sprint freestyler in American swimming. Alexy first gained recognition as a swimmer at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned multiple All-American honors. Competing for the California Golden Bears, he secured two NCAA championships, 21 CSCAA All-American honors, three ACC titles, and four Pac-12 championships. During his high school career in New Jersey, Alexy was a three-time high school state champion, three-time Morris County champion, and a two-time junior national champion in the 100-meter freestyle.

Alexy's breakthrough season came at the World Aquatics Championships, where he earned five medals for Team USA in his senior international debut, including two individual silver medals in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events. The 6-foot-7 sprinter also contributed to Team USA's gold in the men's 4x100 medley relay, silver in the mixed 400 freestyle relay, and bronze in the men's 400 freestyle relay. At the Olympic Games in Paris, Alexy captured gold in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay and silver in the 4x100-meter medley relay, contributing to Team USA's continued success in international swimming.

Alexy is a multiple-time World Champion, a U.S. Open record holder in the 100-meter freestyle, and has played a key role in record-setting relay performances at major international competitions. He set a world record as part of the men's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team at the Short Course World Championships, where he also claimed gold in the 100-meter freestyle. At the World Championships in Singapore, his semifinal time of 46.81 in the 100 freestyle surpassed the previous American record held by Caeleb Dressel, and he followed with a 46.92 in the final. For his performances, Alexy was named Swimming World's Americas Male Swimmer of the Year.

In addition to his achievements in swimming, Alexy studies political economy at UC Berkeley. He has discussed the challenges of balancing NCAA training, racing schedules, academics, and social life during his freshman year, which affected his performance in the pool. By adjusting his mindset, diet, and training regimen, Alexy achieved greater success in subsequent seasons. He has stated, "This journey is filled with countless ups and downs, and I firmly believe that an outcome is only deemed a failure when you don't learn anything from your results."
