Jaccob Slavin

Jaccob Slavin, a professional ice hockey player, has made his mark in the NHL as a defenseman and alternate captain for the Carolina Hurricanes. He began his journey to professional hockey when he was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round, 120th overall, of the 2012 NHL entry draft. His career took a significant leap when he made his debut in the league on November 20, 2015. Since then, he has showcased his skills on several occasions, including scoring his first NHL hat-trick on March 13, 2017, against the New York Islanders.

Slavin has not only been a strong force on the ice but also a consistent and reliable player for the Hurricanes. This was acknowledged when he signed an eight-year contract extension with the team on July 1, 2024. But his expertise isn't limited to his club engagements. He has also represented his country, getting named to Team USA's roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics and winning the gold medal.
