Iyanla Vanzant

Iyanla Vanzant, an American inspirational speaker, lawyer, New Thought spiritual teacher, author, life coach, and television personality, is known for her wide range of accomplishments across multiple mediums. She has a rich history in the television industry, having hosted her own series, "Iyanla: Fix My Life," on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network from 2012 to 2021. Prior to that, she hosted the "Iyanla" TV series from 2001-2002. Her work on television has garnered her several awards, including multiple NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Reality Series for "Iyanla: Fix My Life" and a Daytime Emmy in 2005 for Outstanding Special Class Series for her role as a Life Coach on "Starting Over."

Vanzant's influence extends beyond television. As an author, she has gained recognition for her literary contributions, and as a speaker, she has made a significant impact on many lives. In 2014, she was a co-speaker on Oprah's "The Life You Want Weekend" tour. Her work has been recognized by several publications, such as being named one of the "100 most influential Black Americans" by Ebony magazine in 2000, and being listed at #7 on Watkins' Mind Body Spirit magazine's list of the 100 most spiritually influential living people in 2012.

In addition to her work on television and as a speaker, Vanzant has also made appearances in film and on various TV shows. She had a guest appearance in the movie "Girls Trip," and has been featured on shows such as "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Super Soul Sunday," and "The Dr. Oz Show." Currently, she is also a Lifeclass Teacher on "Oprah's Lifeclass" on OWN, a role which has earned her Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2013. In 2025, she was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Lifestyle/Self-Help Podcast for "The R Spot with Iyanla."
