Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas is recognized as one of the top point guards in professional basketball history. At Indiana University, Thomas played a key role in leading his team to an NCAA championship and earned recognition as a standout player. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the second overall pick in the NBA Draft and spent his entire 13-year career with the Pistons, guiding the team to back-to-back NBA Championships. Thomas was named Most Valuable Player of the Finals after the Pistons defeated the Portland Trail Blazers.

Thomas was a central figure among the "Bad Boys" of Detroit, known for their physical style of play. Standing at 6-foot-1, Thomas was noted for his fearless drives to the basket and his ability to perform under pressure. Over his career, he averaged 19.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game. Thomas played in 12 consecutive NBA All-Star Games and was selected as the NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player twice. He became the fourth player in NBA history to record over 9,000 assists, following Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and John Stockton.

Thomas was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player and was named to the NBA's 50th and 75th Anniversary Teams. He received the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award, which recognizes outstanding service to others, and funded the college education of more than 75 students during his playing career.

After retiring as a player, Thomas held executive roles with the Toronto Raptors, served as a television sports commentator, led the Continental Basketball Association, and was head coach of the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks. He also participated in civic discussions, including a roundtable on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy with U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, Killer Mike, and Renee Montgomery. Thomas later became head coach of the Saginaw Soul, a professional basketball team in the Basketball Super League.

As chairman and CEO of Isiah International, Thomas has built companies in waste removal and recycling, multi-family housing, and the sports industry. He also leads Isiah International LLC, an investment holdings company, and owns five companies: Isiah Real Estate, Isiah Imports, a private equity and asset management firm, Isiah Hemp and Cannabis Products, and GRE3N, a utility vegetation and pipeline management company. Thomas frequently addresses topics such as leadership, resilience, and the intersection of sports and business.
