Isabelle Kumar

Isabelle Kumar is a British journalist, presenter, and moderator with more than two decades of experience in international media. Before joining Euronews, Kumar worked at CNN International, Reuters, and Associated Press Television News in London. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French and European Studies and a Master of Arts in French and Critical Theory. Kumar is bilingual in French and English and holds both British and German nationality.

As the lead anchor for Euronews–NBC, Kumar fronted flagship evening news programs and traveled internationally to interview heads of state, government officials, CEOs, and public figures, generating significant global viewership on digital platforms. She presented "The Global Conversation," conducting in-depth interviews with world leaders in politics, business, sports, and culture. Past guests include Iranian President Hassan Rohani, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, business leader Richard Branson, and classical musician Andrea Bocelli. Kumar also presented "On the Frontline," a debate program focused on European home affairs, and "I-Talk," which addressed a range of European issues.

As a moderator, Kumar has chaired events such as the World Economic Forum, United Nations conferences, and business summits including the Consumer Goods Forum. Her moderation of the inaugural European Union Presidential Debate is recognized as a significant moment in EU political history. She has presented award ceremonies for the United Nations and chaired private discussions with leaders such as former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Kumar has also moderated and served as master of ceremonies at events including the UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award and live Euronews/YouTube events with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

Kumar's principal activity is moderation and event hosting, working with corporations, international organizations, and NGOs on topics including technology, health, sustainability, and global affairs. Her clients include the European Commission, the United Nations, World Health Organization, The Consumer Goods Forum, Procter & Gamble, LEAP, and Saatchi & Saatchi. Beyond her professional work in journalism and event moderation, Kumar is a disability activist, president of a charity supporting people with autism, and a volunteer with Lake Aid, assisting unaccompanied minors, asylum seekers, and homeless families in Annecy, France. Her personal experiences inform her ability to bring authentic, human perspectives to complex global discussions.
