Isaac Alarcón

Isaac Alarcón is a towering 6′7″, 320‑lb offensive lineman with the National Football League's (NFL) San Francisco 49ers, where he remains on the practice squad under a reserve/future contract for the 2025 season. He began playing football relatively late—around age 14—at Club Pumas in Monterrey before earning a scholarship to the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM), where he helped the Borregos Salvajes win the Mexican college football national championship in 2019 and earned national all‑conference honors.

In 2020, Alarcón became the first Mexican offensive lineman to join the NFL via the International Player Pathway Program, signing with the Dallas Cowboys, and spending four seasons on their practice squad with a designated roster exemption. Despite serious setbacks—including abdominal cyst surgery in 2019 that cost him 25 pounds—he rebounded through intense dedication to regain strength and technique, attracting NFL attention and earning a spot in the IPP combine in Florida.

In 2023, the Cowboys transitioned him from offensive line to defensive tackle after notable scout-team performances. Despite this versatility, he didn't make the active roster and moved to the 49ers’ practice squad in January 2024, where he continued to develop through the end of the season and into the 2025 offseason.
