Inma Martinez

Inma Martinez is a technology entrepreneur and AI researcher with a 25+ year career who has pioneered artificial intelligence in the areas of human behavior and recommender systems, precision agriculture, and data governance for safe and trustworthy systems. A pioneering innovator behind transformative digital products and services for telecommunication, automotive, energy and financial services companies, she has also been a government advisor at international level since 2002.

Arising as one of the most dynamic voices for the need to develop human approaches to technology and AI and digitization as competitive assets for progress and social welfare, she has been appointed to expert roles for both British and European government institutions in the crucial years when the European Digital Agenda was forged, participating in the formation of Big Data, GDPR and AI Directive policy initiatives, contributing to the drafting of national AI strategies for policy making. She is a long-time collaborator providing AI expertise to the United Nations Technology Office, UNESCO’s Global Forum on AI Ethics, and the G7/OECD Global Partnership on AI, where she was elected chair of the expert group (150+ AI scientists developing AI policy across Responsible AI, AI Innovation, and the Future of Work).
