Incubus

Incubus is an American rock band recognized for its genre-blending approach and ongoing creative evolution within alternative and rock music. The group was formed by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas while attending Calabasas High School. The lineup later expanded to include bassist Alex Katunich and DJ Gavin Koppell, who were subsequently replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore, respectively. Early influences included funk-metal and bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, but Incubus broadened its sound to incorporate elements of thrash, rap-metal, post-grunge, and alternative rock. The band independently released its debut album, "Fungus Amongus," which led to a major record deal.

Incubus achieved mainstream success with the multi-platinum album "Make Yourself," featuring the chart-topping single "Drive." Subsequent albums "Morning View" and "A Crow Left of the Murder..." both debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, while "Light Grenades" marked the band's first number 1 debut in the US. The band received a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for the single "Megalomaniac."

Incubus has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide, earned numerous multi-platinum and platinum certifications, and accumulated billions of streams. The band has achieved six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard 200 and performed at major music festivals including BottleRock, Ohana, Lollapalooza, and Rock In Rio, as well as headlining arenas and amphitheaters globally. The eighth studio album, "8," was co-produced by Skrillex, and the band also released a greatest hits collection, "Monuments and Melodies."

Demonstrating ongoing creative ambition, Incubus reworked and re-recorded the album "Morning View," releasing it as "Morning View XXIII." The original "Morning View" spent 60 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at number 2. The band's catalog continues to influence the alternative and rock music landscape, with dynamic live performances and a legacy spanning more than three decades.
