Her professional background includes work as a contract archaeologist, foreign currency exchanger at Walt Disney World, foreign language teacher, and educational marketing director for Frank Lloyd Wright's House on Kentuck Knob.
As a novelist, Miller is known for her far-future "Ambasadora" series and for "Man of War," a sequel to Philip José Farmer's novel "Two Hawks from Earth." "Ambasadora" was her thesis novel at Seton Hill. She co-edited the writing guide "Many Genres, One Craft" with Michael A. Arnzen, which is based on the Seton Hill program and was recognized in The Writer magazine's list of top writing books. The guide received honors including Best Non-Fiction at the London Book Festival, Best Educational/Academic at the Indie Book Awards, and Best Business: Writing & Publishing at the International Book Awards.
Miller created the Dog Star Books science fiction imprint for Raw Dog Screaming Press and served as managing editor for the line. She was also the director of professional writing relations for the Pennsylvania Literary Festival, an event she co-founded, and founded the Uniontown Public Library Author Series, which she directed. Miller edited the charity anthology "Like Sunshine After Rain," which brought together 85 authors from seven countries to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Miller teaches creative writing at Seton Hill University, where she graduated from the Writing Popular Fiction Graduate Program the same month she appeared on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire."
