Hassane El-Khoury

Hassane El-Khoury serves as president and chief executive officer of onsemi, a global leader in intelligent power and sensing semiconductor solutions. With more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, El-Khoury combines engineering expertise with strategic leadership in the semiconductor industry. He began his career at Continental Automotive Systems as a senior design engineer before transitioning to Cypress Semiconductor, where he expanded his knowledge in business unit management, product development, applications engineering, and business development over a 13-year tenure.

During his time at Cypress, El-Khoury led the company through a transformation, shifting it from a founder-led semiconductor business to a focused organization addressing customer and industry challenges. His strategy resulted in record highs for stock price, revenue, and cash flow, and positioned Cypress for acquisition by Infineon Technologies for approximately $9 billion.

El-Khoury was later elected as a director of ON Semiconductor Corporation and appointed as president and chief executive officer of onsemi and Semiconductor Components Industries, LLC. Under his leadership, onsemi has repositioned itself as a high-value provider of intelligent power and sensing technologies for the automotive and industrial markets, sectors central to the electrification and artificial intelligence trends shaping the global economy. The company has expanded its silicon carbide business, secured design wins and long-term supply agreements with electric vehicle manufacturers such as Volkswagen and Subaru, and launched products including EliteSiC M3e MOSFETs and the Treo BCD65 platform, strengthening its position in the electric vehicle power semiconductor market. In a recent fiscal year, onsemi reported revenue of $7.1 billion, a GAAP gross margin of 45.4 percent, and free cash flow of $1.2 billion.

El-Khoury is recognized for his advocacy of sustainability and responsible innovation in semiconductor manufacturing. He has committed onsemi to pursuing net-zero emissions, emphasizing energy reduction in chip design and manufacturing as a competitive advantage. El-Khoury is a prominent voice on the impact of electrification and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the semiconductor industry. His leadership philosophy centers on continuous progress and overcoming obstacles to achieve long-term success.

El-Khoury has been named to Silicon Valley's 40 Under 40 and serves on the board of directors at KeraCel and the Semiconductor Industry Association. He is a frequent speaker at industry events, including the Milken Institute Global Conference and the Semafor World Economy Summit. El-Khoury holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Lawrence Technological University and a master's in engineering management from Oakland University.
