Harry Rinker

Harry L. Rinker is the owner of Rinker Consulting, a firm specializing in appraisal, consulting, research, writing, and media services in the antiques and collectibles field. A nationally recognized authority, he is best known for his long-running syndicated column, “Rinker on Collectibles." He also maintains a biweekly blog and has contributed research articles and feature columns to leading industry publications.

A prominent media voice, Rinker hosts "Whatcha Got?," a nationally syndicated antiques and collectibles radio call-in show. He previously hosted "Collector Inspector" on HGTV and appeared in several television specials, as well as on major programs including "Oprah," "Good Morning America," "Today," "CBS This Morning," and "Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser."

A prolific author and editor, Rinker has written or edited dozens of books and price guides on antiques and collectibles. His works include "Guide to Toy Collecting" (for the Smithsonian), "Sell, Keep, or Toss," and multiple editions of "Warman’s Antiques and Collectibles" guides. His publications span topics from toys and paper collectibles to dinnerware, silverware, stemware, and Americana, cementing his reputation as one of the field’s most comprehensive scholars.

Appointed by the U.S. Postmaster General to serve on the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee from 2012 to 2014, Rinker has also built a distinguished career as a museum professional, educator, and lecturer. He holds advanced degrees in American decorative arts and professional writing and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Davenport University. An avid collector himself, his personal holdings—particularly in Pennsylvania German material and Hopalong Cassidy memorabilia—have been featured in major museum exhibitions across the United States and abroad.
