Harry Lennix

Harry Lennix is an accomplished actor, recognized for a variety of roles in both television and film. Some of his most notable roles include Terrence "Dresser" Williams in "The Five Heartbeats" and Boyd Langton in "Dollhouse." He also played Harold Cooper, assistant director of the FBI Counterterrorism Division, on the NBC drama "The Blacklist," and portrayed J'onn J'onzz/Calvin Swanwick/Martian Manhunter in the DC Extended Universe films "Man of Steel," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," and "Zack Snyder's Justice League." In 2014, Lennix formed his own production company, Exponent Media Group (EMG), with business partner Steve Harris.

Lennix's talent extends beyond acting to include accolades such as being an official festival judge at the first annual Noor Iranian Film Festival in 2007. His performances have been recognized with several awards, including the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture for "Titus" in 2000, the Black Reel Award for Best Actor in a Television Movie/Mini-Series for "Keep the Faith, Baby" in 2003, and the Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play for "Purpose" in 2025. He has also been involved in voice acting, lending his voice to characters in the video games "Enter the Matrix" and "The Matrix Online."

Spanning three decades, Lennix's career encompasses a diverse range of roles and genres. He has starred in films such as "Comfortably Numb," "Get on the Bus," "Love & Basketball," "The Matrix" series, "Ray," "Barbershop 2: Back in Business," "Stomp the Yard," and "State of Play." He also played Henry Drummond in the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee play "Inherit the Wind" during the Chicago Goodman Theater's 2024-2025 season.
