Harry Carson

Harry Carson enjoyed a remarkable 13-year career with the New York Giants, serving as team captain for 10 seasons and leading the team to victory in Super Bowl XXI. A nine-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-NFL selection, Carson was once ranked the No. 1 inside linebacker in NFL history by Pro Football Weekly and is regarded by Bill Belichick as “the best all-around linebacker” he ever coached.

A standout at South Carolina State University, Carson earned numerous All-American honors and twice won MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. His achievements led to inductions into multiple halls of fame, including the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2006), College Football Hall of Fame (2002), and Black College Football Hall of Fame (2012).

Following his retirement in 1988, Carson transitioned to broadcasting, serving as an analyst for CNN, ABC, WCBS-TV, and MSG Network, and co-hosting "Giants 1st & 10." As CEO of Harry Carson Inc., he consults on sports and leadership, providing motivational programs and expert commentary.

A pioneer in concussion awareness, Carson has partnered with Hackensack Meridian Health and advised national organizations on brain injury prevention. He has also championed retired players’ rights, using his Hall of Fame platform to advocate for better pensions and benefits.

Dedicated to philanthropy, Carson supports causes such as the United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, and numerous health foundations. He holds an honorary doctorate from Fairleigh Dickinson University, has authored two books—"Point of Attack" and "Captain for Life"—and continues to inspire as a respected speaker, advocate, and leader in sports and health education.
