Haroon Moghul Biography
Haroon Moghul builds at the intersection of religion and technology, moral formation and our modern lives. The Muslim Chaplain at Xavier University, a Jesuit institution in Cincinnati, Moghul teaches, preaches and writes across AI, democracy, faith and community. A one-time stand-up comic in New York City, he's the author of "How to Be a Muslim: An American Story" and "Two Billion Caliphs: A Vision of a Muslim Future." His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR's Fresh Air, CNN, al-Jazeera and beyond. He was also twice named one of the fifty most influential Muslims in the Americas.
Moghul is the founder and President of Queen City Diwan, which runs formation-based leadership retreats for emerging young Muslim leaders around the world, and co-hosts the Avenue M podcast on faith and meaning. He studied Islam, philosophy, and history at Columbia University, New York University, and institutions in the Middle East and South Asia, and lives with his wife and family in Cincinnati.
