Harmony Korine

Harmony Korine, a multifaceted American creative, made a notable entry into the world of arts with his critically acclaimed screenplay for "Kids" in 1995. This marked the beginning of his journey in filmmaking, characterized by an erratic and transgressive aesthetic. His directorial debut, "Gummo" in 1997, further established his unique style, winning top prizes at the Venice Film Festival. Over the years, Korine has explored a myriad of themes in his work, such as dysfunctional families, hedonism, and subcultures, often through non-linear narratives and symbolic events. This exploration is evident in his notable films like "Mister Lonely", "Spring Breakers", and "The Beach Bum".

In 2023, Korine ventured into the technology world, founding EDGLRD, a creative and technology company. His company marked its presence at the 80th Venice International Film Festival with the premiere of "Aggro Dr1ft", one of EDGLRD's first projects. This film, starring Jordi Mollà and Travis Scott, was followed by another directorial venture, "Baby Invasion", shot from a first-person perspective. His works not only explore different themes and styles but also incorporate a variety of media, such as Polaroids, Super 8, 35mm film, and VHS recordings, showcasing his innovative approach to filmmaking.

Beyond filmmaking, Korine has also made significant contributions to literature and art. He has published several books, including "A Crack Up at the Race Riots" and screenplays for his films like "Kids" and "Gummo." As a visual artist, Korine has been involved in twelve exhibitions at the Gagosian gallery, including seven solo exhibitions. In 2023, The Golfer’s Journal featured a collection of works by Korine titled "Wormburner." His creative endeavors also extend to music, having directed the music video for Rihanna's "Needed Me" in 2016.
