George Thorogood & The Destroyers

George Thorogood, an American musician, singer, and songwriter, is renowned for his distinctive "high-energy boogie-blues" sound. His career began as a solo acoustic performer before he formed The Destroyers, a band that has since released over 20 albums and has sold over 20 million albums. Thorogood's hits, including "Bad to the Bone" and "I Drink Alone", have not only achieved commercial success but have also significantly contributed to popularizing older songs by American icons. Throughout his career, he has shown a deep commitment to his craft, marked by a rigorous touring schedule that included the ambitious "50/50" tour.

Thorogood's contributions to music have been recognized with multiple accolades. Two of his albums have been certified Platinum, and six have been certified Gold, contributing to a total of 15 million records sold worldwide. His mainstream exposure was amplified as he served as a support act for the Rolling Stones and made appearances on platforms such as Saturday Night Live. In 2017, Thorogood released his first proper solo album, "Party of One," under EMI America Records. His career reached another milestone in 2020 when he was inducted into the Mississippi Music Project Hall of Fame and received the MMP Music Award.

Despite personal challenges, including the loss of his wife, Marla Raderman, to ovarian cancer in 2019, and the passing of band saxophonist Hank Carter in 2021, Thorogood has remained devoted to his music. His perseverance was further tested in 2023 when he was faced with a serious illness that forced him to cancel some tour dates. Nonetheless, Thorogood, along with The Destroyers band members Jeff Simon, Billy Blough, Jim Suhler, and Buddy Leach, continue to leave an indelible mark on the music industry with their unique sound and unwavering dedication to their craft.
