General Tim Haugh

When the stakes are high and the risks are global, leaders turn to General General Tim Haugh, USAF (Ret.). Haugh served as the 19th Director of the National Security Agency and the 4th Commander of U.S. Cyber Command. In 2025, Haugh completed an illustrious career leading at the highest levels of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community delivering results at the nexus of national policy, emerging technology, and global change. He is a Senior Fellow at The Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs for the fall 2025 semester.

Gen. Haugh served for more than 30 years in the United States Air Force, culminating in his assignment as the 4th Commander of U.S. Cyber Command and the 19th director of the National Security Agency. In these roles, he served as the national manager for all federal government national security systems and led all cyber operations at the Department of Defense.

A native of Hughesville, Pennsylvania, Gen. Haugh earned his commission in 1991 as a distinguished graduate of the ROTC program at Lehigh University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Russian studies from Lehigh, and then went on to earn Master of Science degrees from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the Naval Postgraduate School, and Southern Methodist University.
