Gary Patton

Gary Patton is the Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Intel Foundry Design Technology Platform organization. In this role, he leads a global team responsible for delivering advanced design technology solutions to enable customer success on Intel Foundry’s manufacturing platforms. His work supports Intel’s strategic efforts to become a world-leading systems foundry, driving innovation across process technology, EDA, IP, packaging, and silicon design capabilities.

Prior to joining Intel, Gary held senior leadership roles at some of the most influential companies in the semiconductor industry. He served as CTO and head of worldwide R&D at GlobalFoundries, where he was responsible for technology development alliances and oversaw the company’s advanced CMOS technology. Earlier in his career, he spent over two decades at IBM, where he ultimately led IBM’s Semiconductor R&D Center.

Gary is widely recognized for his contributions to semiconductor technology, including significant work in process development, design enablement, and collaborative innovation with ecosystem partners. He is a respected voice in the industry and a strong advocate for aligning technology platforms with customer design needs to drive scalable, efficient innovation.

He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and is an IEEE Fellow.
