G Herbo

G Herbo, born Herbert Randall Wright III, is a rapper and songwriter recognized for his influential role in shaping Chicago drill music. Raised on the East Side of Chicago, an area known locally as Terror Town, Herbo began his music career at 16. He first gained attention with childhood friend and rapper Lil Bibby through the track "Kill Shit," which became a viral hit and drew the attention of prominent artists in the hip-hop industry. This early success led to his debut mixtape, "Welcome to Fazoland," named in memory of a friend and noted for its vivid, street-level lyricism. Herbo followed with additional mixtapes, including "Pistol P Project" and "Ballin Like I'm Kobe," further establishing his presence in the Chicago rap scene.

Herbo's collaborations include work with Nicki Minaj on "Chiraq," a guest appearance on Common's album "Nobody's Smiling," and a feature with Chance the Rapper on "Fight or Flight (Remix)." He was featured in XXL Magazine's Show & Prove segment and later included in the XXL Freshman Class.

Herbo's debut studio album, "Humble Beast," marked a significant artistic development. His collaborative album "Swervo" with producer Southside of 808 Mafia served as his first major-label release. The album "PTSD," inspired by his personal experience with post-traumatic stress disorder, debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and received Gold certification from the RIAA, with the title track achieving platinum status. The project featured artists such as Juice WRLD, Chance the Rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Durk, and was recognized for its candid exploration of trauma, mental health, and the psychological impact of street life. Herbo has been noted for addressing therapy and emotional vulnerability in his music, discussing the normalization of trauma in his community.

Subsequent albums, including "25" and the double album "Survivor's Remorse," continued to chart highly on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with Future, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Offset, Gunna, and Kodak Black. Herbo's singles have collectively garnered billions of streams, and his feature on the remix of Nardo Wick's "Who Want Smoke?" with Lil Durk and 21 Savage reached the Hot 100 top 20, highlighting his ongoing relevance in hip-hop.

Outside of music, Herbo founded Swervin' Through Stress, a mental health organization that partners with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and InnoPsych to provide therapy resources for Black youth ages 18 to 25. The initiative seeks to reduce stigma around mental health care in Black communities and connect young adults with support services. Through his music and advocacy, Herbo addresses issues of trauma, mental health, and community support within hip-hop culture.
