Brittany Fousheé—known professionally as Fousheé—is a genre-defying singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who rose from New Jersey’s vibrant music scene to international acclaim. Raised by her Jamaican mother—a drummer in an all-woman reggae band—she was immersed in a range of musical styles from childhood, from Bob Marley and Etta James to Frank Ocean. Her breakthrough came in 2020 when a sample of her song “Deep End,” originally uploaded on Splice, was featured on Sleepy Hallow’s viral hit “Deep End Freestyle,” which exploded on TikTok and ultimately earned platinum certification. Revealing herself on social media, she later released her own soulful version, making history as the first Black woman to reach the Alternative Airplay top ten since Tracy Chapman.

In 2021, she released her debut EP Time Machine, which led to accolades including Billboard’s R&B/hip‑hop rookie of the month, Apple Music’s “Up Next” feature, and collaborations with Lil Wayne, Vince Staples, and performances on "The Tonight Show." Her 2022 album softCORE took a bold turn—an audacious blend of punk, noise-pop, and metal laced with raw emotion and defiance, garnering Grammy nominations for her work with Steve Lacy & his chart-topping smash “Bad Habit." Fousheé’s musical evolution continued with 2024’s Pointy Heights, a deeply personal homage to her Jamaican roots and familial legacy, weaving ska, reggae, and introspection inspired by visits to her grandfather's land in Jamaica.
