Flau'jae Johnson

Flau'jae Johnson is a professional basketball player and rapper who entered the WNBA as a member of the Seattle Storm after being selected with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the WNBA draft by the Golden State Valkyries and immediately traded.

Johnson first gained national attention as a teenager through appearances on Lifetime's "The Rap Game" and NBC's "America's Got Talent," where she performed her original song "Guns Down," an anthem about gun violence inspired by the murder of her father, Savannah rapper Camoflauge. On "America's Got Talent," she earned the Golden Buzzer and advanced to the quarterfinals, becoming the first rapper on the show to receive that honor. Her music career includes the debut album "Best of Both Worlds" released through Roc Nation and a follow-up project, "The Flaumix Tape," which received recognition from artists including Lil Wayne, Quavo, and J.I.D.

On the basketball court, Johnson played all four seasons of her college career at LSU under head coach Kim Mulkey. As a freshman starter, she helped the Tigers capture their first NCAA national championship and was named SEC Freshman of the Year. Johnson earned Second Team All-SEC honors as a sophomore, First Team All-SEC and Third Team All-American recognition as both a junior and senior, and surpassed 2,000 career points, ranking sixth in LSU history. Over her four-year career, she averaged 14.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field.

Beyond basketball and music, Johnson has become a prominent figure in the name, image, and likeness era, signing deals with brands such as Puma, Meta, JBL, and Taco Bell, and securing an equity stake in the women's 3-on-3 basketball league Unrivaled. She was featured in the Prime Video docuseries "The Money Game: LSU," which was nominated for a Sports Emmy Award, and appeared in the ESPN+ series "Full Court Press." Johnson also represented Team USA at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup, where she won a gold medal. The mayor of Baton Rouge presented her with a key to the city in recognition of her impact, and she received the inaugural Kay Yow Servant Leader of the Year Award for her community service efforts.
