Five for Fighting

Vladimir John Ondrasik III, known by his stage name Five for Fighting, is a singer-songwriter recognized for his piano-based soft rock. He has a rich discography comprising six studio albums, one EP, and several live albums. Among his works, two albums, "America Town" and "The Battle for Everything," have been certified Platinum. The latter debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 in 2004 and included the hit single "100 Years," which reached number one on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. His song "Superman (It's Not Easy)" was nominated for a Grammy in 2002 and has been performed in significant venues, including The Concert for New York City in the same year.

Five for Fighting's music has a broad impact, with his songs featured in over 350 films, TV shows, and advertisements. Noteworthy inclusions are "Chances" in the end credits of the film "The Blind Side," and "All for One," "100 Years," and "Born to Win" in TV shows like "Hawaii Five-0" and "American Ninja Warrior." Ondrasik's songs also address global issues, with recent releases like "Blood on My Hands" and "Can One Man Save the World?" reflecting on the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, respectively. The latter was performed with the Ukrainian Orchestra in Kyiv in 2022.

Ondrasik is also a philanthropist and activist, having created the charity website whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com and raised over $250,000 for various charities. He has performed for US service members on multiple USO tours, including destinations such as Guantánamo Bay, Japan, Guam, and Hawaii. Furthermore, he launched the docu-series "Meet the Heroes" in 2022, featuring stories from the Afghan withdrawal. Ondrasik's contributions to society have been recognized with the National Fatherhood Initiative's 2009 Military Fatherhood Award and the International SPA Association's Humanitarian Award in 2016.
