Fares Fares is a Swedish–Lebanese actor known for his intense, understated performances across Scandinavian and international cinema. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, and raised in Sweden, he began his acting career in the late 1990s and quickly became a familiar face in Swedish film and television. He gained early recognition through collaborations with director Josef Fares—his brother—appearing in films such as Jalla! Jalla! and Kopps, which showcased both his dramatic range and sharp comedic timing.
Internationally, Fares is widely recognized for his work in critically acclaimed productions, including Zero Dark Thirty, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Child 44. He is also celebrated for his roles in Nordic noir, particularly as detective Mahmoud Faizal in the Danish series The Killing and as a lead in West Beirut.
