Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy is an American rock band formed in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, Illinois. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. Originating from Chicago's hardcore punk scene, Wentz and Trohman initially formed the group as a pop-punk side project, with Stump joining soon after.

The band's debut album, "Take This to Your Grave," achieved underground success and helped build a dedicated fan base through extensive touring. Rolling Stone ranked "Take This to Your Grave" among the 50 greatest pop-punk albums of all time.

Fall Out Boy's transition to mainstream recognition came with the major-label release of "From Under the Cork Tree." With Wentz as lyricist and Stump as primary composer, the album produced the hit singles "Sugar, We're Goin Down" and "Dance, Dance." Both singles reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and sold over two million downloads each. The album's success earned Fall Out Boy a Best New Artist nomination at the Grammy Awards. The band followed with "Infinity on High," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. Its lead single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 10 in several countries, including Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

After releasing "Folie à Deux" and the compilation "Believers Never Die – Greatest Hits," the band went on hiatus, with members pursuing side projects. Fall Out Boy reunited for "Save Rock and Roll," which became the band's second number-one album and included the top-20 single "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)." The band's momentum continued with "American Beauty/American Psycho," whose lead single "Centuries" peaked at number 10 on the Hot 100 and was certified four-times platinum. The album became Fall Out Boy's third Billboard 200 number one. The seventh studio album, "Mania," also reached number one, marking the band's fourth chart-topping album and sixth consecutive top 10 album. The accompanying tour included a headlining show at Wrigley Field. Fall Out Boy received a second Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album for "Mania."

The band's subsequent work reinforced their influence in the rock music industry. "So Much (for) Stardust," the eighth studio album, reunited Fall Out Boy with producer Neal Avron and marked a return to their original record label, Fueled by Ramen. The album debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200, making it the band's seventh consecutive top-10 album, and also reached the top 10 in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Prior to the album's release, Fall Out Boy participated in the Hella Mega Tour alongside Green Day and Weezer, performing at major venues such as Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, and Dodger Stadium. "So Much (for) Stardust" earned the band two MTV Video Music Award nominations for Best Alternative and Best Visual Effects. With a catalog spanning multiple generations and a reputation for energetic live performances, Fall Out Boy remains a significant and influential presence in rock music, pop punk, and alternative rock.
