Evelyn Anderson

Evelyn Anderson is a cybersecurity leader in the technology industry, with more than 28 years of experience in IT security at IBM. Anderson holds the title of IBM Distinguished Engineer, an executive technical role within the company, and has served as chief technology officer for cyber strategy and risk. Her academic background includes a master's degree in technology management and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting.

Anderson has held leadership positions across IBM, including global roles in identity and access management, security, regulatory compliance, risk management, physical security, system currency, and infrastructure protection. She led the development of a global framework to standardize delivery, automate controls, and reduce security risks for IBM and its clients. Anderson's expertise in privacy, cybersecurity, security regulations, and risk management has supported the creation of solutions for organizations worldwide. Her work focuses on implementing controls to address internal and external IT threats.

Anderson has been recognized as an IBM Master Inventor, the company's highest distinction for inventors, and holds 25 patents granted and 38 patents pending with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Her professional certifications include Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, Certified Information Security Manager, and AWS Cloud Practitioner. Anderson is a member of ISACA, Information Systems Security Association, and Society of Women Engineers.

Her contributions to cybersecurity have been acknowledged with industry honors, including the Women of Color STEM Award in Technical Innovation. As a senior technical staff member, Anderson was the only Black female to hold this distinction in her area at IBM.
