Eve Plumb was born April 29, 1958 in Burbank, California in a hospital across from the Disney studios. She was baptized in a movie theater and raised in Southern California's San Fernando Valley. Her father, Neely Plumb was an independent record producer and her mother was an actress and ballet dancer.
Eve started her showbiz career in a television commercial at age six. By the time Eve was chosen for the role of Jan Brady, she had over forty commercials on her resume in addition to parts on a handful of TV shows including Family Affair and Gunsmoke. Her pre-Brady resume also included singing on albums as part of the Jimmy Joyce Children's Chorus.
Contrary to her on-screen persona, Eve's post-bunch life included becoming a varsity cheerleader and homecoming queen for her highschool. In 1976, Eve broke character entirely, by taking the lead in the TV movie Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway, in which she played a teen prostitute. Her success with that film as well as NBC production of Little Women kept Eve out of The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, though she did return for subsequent Brady reunion shows.
Eve was active for a number of years in the Los Angeles comedy troupe "The Groundlings" (which nurtured luminaries Pee Wee Herman, Elvira and Julia Sweeny) and appeared in a number of stage shows and standup comedy events around Los Angeles. She has also appeared in several feature films including I'm Gonna Git U Suckah! and And God Spoke. Eve also showed her appreciation for the Brady phenomenon by appearing in an episode of "The Real Live Brady Bunch" stage show in Chicago (as Tami Cutler in "Adios, Johnny Bravo.") Eve also appeared for two seasons on the ABC Saturday morning show Fudge and turned up on an episode of Lois and Clark among other things. For a number of years, Eve has been embarking on an artistic career, and sells paintings and prints of her work at various galleries across the country.
