Eugene Lee Yang

Eugene Lee Yang is a producer, actor, director, writer, and one of today's most recognizable queer Asian-American performers. His digital work as a viral video producer has been viewed billions of times, and he has been distinguished as one of the world's most culturally influential YouTube creators. He is known for his work with BuzzFeed and for being the co-founder and member of the comedy group The Try Guy. In early 2018, The Try Guys launched their own independent production company called 2nd Try LLC, amassing millions of followers with projects such as a New York Times bestselling book, an international live tour, and a Food Network series.

Yang has several acting and voice acting credits, including voicing Ambrosius Goldenloin in the Netflix movie "Nimona." He formally departed from The Try Guys in 2024 to focus on independent artistic ventures and announced his YA fiction writing debut, a two-part queer fantasy epic called "The Unders." The first book is scheduled to release in spring 2025.

Yang is also known for his human rights and LGBTQ+ advocacy. His official coming out video, “I’m Gay,” went viral in June 2019 and raised $150,000 for The Trevor Project. Yang's full-length documentary, “We Need To Talk About Anti-Asian Hate,” raised over $600K for GoFundMe’s Stop Asian Hate campaign. Yang is currently developing his own television, film, and writing projects.
