Essdras Suarez

Essdras M. Suarez is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist, educator, speaker, author, and mentor whose career spans over three decades and more than 80 countries. Known for his ability to capture powerful, emotionally resonant stories, he has received numerous honors, including the Robert F. Kennedy International Photojournalism Award, multiple Headliner Awards, the Thomas Lowell Award, and various Editors & Publishers (EPPY) awards. He was selected as one of only 20 artists from more than a million applicants for the civilian dearMoon mission.

A former Boston Globe staff photographer and Chief Photographer for the international visual-sharing platform million eyez©, Suarez is the founder of EMS Photo Adventures and Panama Photo Adventures.

He currently designs and leads immersive photography programs across the globe—Panama, Cuba, Ireland, Colombia, the United States, and beyond—helping participants develop a deeper way of seeing through composition, storytelling, and decisive-moment awareness.

Suarez is the author of "My Lens Lessons," a memoir blending frontline photojournalism with the philosophies, techniques, and life lessons he now teaches worldwide. His work as a speaker and educator is rooted in decades of lived experience and a firm belief that photography helps us understand the world—and ourselves—with greater clarity.
