Ernestine Johnson

Ernestine Johnson Morrison is an American actress, performance poet, producer, and entrepreneur whose work spans television, film, and the spoken word stage. She studied performing arts in high school and majored in theater at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she was also an NCAA Division I track and field athlete. After graduating, Johnson Morrison chose to build her career in Atlanta's film and television industry, working both in front of and behind the camera.

Johnson Morrison's first adult film role was in the Sony film "Think Like a Man Too." Her acting career includes roles in television series such as "24: Legacy," "Broad City," and "Queen Sugar." She played Delyse in the BET+ thriller "Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy," collaborating with Taye Diggs in this true-crime drama. Johnson Morrison also held a recurring role as Shanice Johnson in the CBS daytime soap opera "Beyond the Gates," appearing in 62 episodes and establishing herself as a consistent presence in American television.

In addition to her acting, Johnson Morrison is recognized internationally as a spoken word artist. After a recommendation from rapper and activist David Banner, she performed her piece "The Average Black Girl" on The Arsenio Hall Show, addressing stereotypes and micro-aggressions faced by Black women. The performance reached over 60 million viewers worldwide. She followed with her original piece "Red Bottoms," which gained significant online attention. Johnson Morrison also performed live on the OWN Network's show "It's Not You, It's Men," hosted by Tyrese and Rev Run. She is known in the spoken word community for her candid and direct approach to social issues.

Johnson Morrison is also a producer and director, having worked on projects such as "Scheme Queens" and "Mixed Emotions." Beyond her entertainment career, she is an advocate for entrepreneurship, serving as co-founder of The Legacy Center and CEO of Green Lit ATL. Through her work in acting, spoken word, and business, Johnson Morrison uses her platform to amplify underrepresented voices and engage audiences nationwide.
