Erling Haaland

Erling Braut Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester City in the Premier League and the Norway national team. Haaland is recognized for his speed, strength, positioning, and finishing ability inside the box. He began his senior career with Bryne and Molde before moving to Red Bull Salzburg, where he won the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup. Haaland then joined Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, where he secured the DFB-Pokal.

Haaland transferred to Manchester City for a fee of €60 million, where he won the continental treble in his debut campaign. He set the record for most goals scored by a player in a Premier League season with 36 and for most goals by a Premier League player in all competitions in one season with 52, earning the Premier League Golden Boot. Haaland finished as the top scorer of the Champions League season for a second time, joining Messi as the only players to achieve this feat twice before turning 23, and was named the UEFA Men's Player of the Year. Off the pitch, Haaland and his father purchased a 16th-century edition of Snorri Sturluson's chronicles at auction, setting a national record for a book sale in Norway, and later donated the volume to his home municipality for library display.
