Eric So

Eric So is widely known in academic circles as the Sloan Distinguished Professor of Global Economics and Management at MIT Sloan. He also holds the positions of Faculty Co-Director for the AI Executive Academy and Faculty Chair of MIT Sloan's PhD program. Apart from these roles, he is also the Lead Faculty for the MIT Sloan Generative AI Hub for Teaching and Learning. His commitment to education was recognized in 2020 when he was awarded the Jamieson Prize for Excellence in Teaching, the highest teaching honor given by MIT Sloan. A significant part of his teaching portfolio includes courses on AI for business and education, finance, and effective communication skills for academics.

So's academic contribution extends beyond teaching. He coauthored the book "Alphanomics: The Informational Underpinnings of Market Efficiency" and has penned numerous impactful research papers. Notable among these are "The Fiscal Frontier: Projecting AI’s Long-term Impact on the US Fiscal Outlook" and "Odd Lots & Optics: Manipulation in Response to Scrutiny". Outside the confines of MIT, So has made his mark as a thought leader in his field. He has been invited onto CNBC to discuss the meme-stock mania. He has also contributed opinion pieces to the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and MarketWatch, where he discussed core earnings and regulatory approaches to GameStop and similar phenomena, respectively. In addition to these activities, he remains involved in executive education through the AI Executive Academy program at MIT, a joint effort between MIT's Sloan School of Management and Schwarzman College of Computing.
