Eric Musselman

Eric Musselman is a basketball coach with extensive experience in both professional and collegiate basketball. He is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Southern California. With more than 30 years of coaching experience, including over a decade as a collegiate head coach, Musselman has worked in player development, program building, and talent recruitment at the highest levels of the sport.

The son of former NBA head coach Bill Musselman, Musselman began his coaching career in the Continental Basketball Association before serving as an assistant with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks. The Musselmans were the first father-son combination to become head coaches in the NBA.

Musselman is the only person in CBA history to coach in five league All-Star Games and was the youngest coach in CBA history. He coached the Florida Sharks of the USBL to a combined 53-3 record and back-to-back championships, earning USBL Coach of the Year honors. After working as an assistant under Doc Rivers and Hall of Fame coach Chuck Daly, Musselman was named head coach of the Golden State Warriors, leading the team to 38 wins and finishing as runner-up in NBA Coach of the Year voting. He later served as head coach of the Sacramento Kings, making him one of the few coaches to have led multiple NBA franchises.

Transitioning to college basketball, Musselman began his collegiate head coaching career at the University of Nevada, where he led the Wolf Pack to a 110-34 record over four seasons. The Wolf Pack won the CBI postseason tournament, added a Mountain West tournament title, and secured the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in several years, followed by at-large berths and a top-five national poll ranking. Musselman then coached at the University of Arkansas, compiling a 111-59 record, making back-to-back Elite Eight appearances, and achieving three consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearances. He recruited two top-five national classes featuring Moses Moody, Anthony Black, and Nick Smith Jr., all of whom were selected in the first round of the NBA Draft.
